The move to Cornwall!

Thanks to the generous support of the Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion I am now able to devote myself fully to training to become a world class fencer. I have now moved to Truro in Cornwall, where I am part of the Truro Fencing Club Performance Programme under a top international coach along with some of the best fencers in the country.

I am all settled into the house now and the internet is finally up and running here!

The training program here is fairly intense with fencing training every weekday morning from 8:30 until 11:00 as well as Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 19:30 until 22:00. There is also conditioning work on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, which incorporates both weights work and cardiovascular exercise. On weekends we have rest days (hopefully well deserved!), unless we are competing which is almost every weekend in peak season (September to April) and more sporadically for the rest of the year.

This weekend I am competing in the Senior British Championships in Sheffield where I am defending a quarter-final result from last year, although I am hoping to do at least as well as two years ago when I came second.

Wish me luck!
