Training in Tata

It’s been a hectic few weeks for me as I’m trying to prepare for the senior season, which starts this weekend in Orleans, France. Last week I travelled to Hungary for a training camp with a few Brits and the Hungarian team.

We arrived on the Sunday night and started off our trip with a traditional Hungarian dinner of goulash in Budapest. In the morning we went to one of the local clubs and had a short training session. Then it was off to Tata, which is about an hour outside of the capital, for the rest of the week.

It was a pretty good set up as all the training was located in the hotel we were staying in. There were two training sessions a day and they were very tough, even though they were only a couple of hours long, as the intensity level was very high.

The training was a combination of sparring, footwork and tactical exercises and I thought that the balance was just right and I hope that I can take away some of the exercises that we did this week and put them into my regular training.

By the end of the week I was exhausted and definitely ready to come home, but it was a very productive week and I hope it has prepared me well for the competition this weekend.
