1. This Conference recommends a review of overheads and expenses in relation to costs of National Conference in order to identify possible savings. |
1. Discussion paper has been written by the National Secretary and distributed for consideration by Conference Committee. 2. Conference Committee will meet in August to review all aspects of Conference and make recommendations. |
|
2. This Conference urges Central Committee to look into the possibility of ‘Branch Pairing’ for National and County Conferences in order to reduce the financial burden on small branches unable to fund delegates alone and permit them representation at Conference. |
For discussion in Central Committee in September 2011. |
|
3. This Conference requests Central Committee to approach the Royal British Legion to request its fundraisers to exercise restraint in the habit of cold-calling, particularly upon elderly members of RBLWS and ex-Service community. |
1. It would appear that this has risen from the Poppy Lottery which has been promoted door to door in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk for the last 3 years. It is done by an outsourced team of a company called Magnum, but they will have accreditation. 2. Where members receive phone calls, this will be because they have previously been a donor to RBL or pay their affiliation fee by direct debit. Neither applies to RBLWS. 3. RBL fundraisers DO NOT have access to RBLWS membership details. |
|
4. This Conference requests Central Committee to approach the RBL Campaigns Group to lobby concerns about the intended cessation of the use of bank cheques from 2016. |
Done. Awaiting confirmation of inclusion in the Campaigns Group agenda or notification that the issue is already addressed elsewhere. |
|
5. This Conference urges Central Committee to consider implementing the voting rights of Holding Branch Members as carried in Motion 1 in the 2008 Annual Conference. |
For discussion in Central Committee in September 2011. |
