Annual Conference 2010
Once again our Annual Conference was a huge success, although we were disappointed that the opportunity for debate was not fully grasped. The opening service was conducted by the Reverend Dan Connolly with guest speakers, The worshipful the Mayor of Blackpool, Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen CB OBE, Governor, Windsor Castle, Mr Peter Cleminson, RBL National Chairman, Mrs Michelle Amos from Army Families Federation.
The National Standard Bearers Competition was held on Tuesday 20th April. First place was won by Ms Laura Ashton from South Eastern Region who remains our National Standard Bearer; second place was Mrs Diane Marrazza from the five Counties of the South West and third was Mrs Heather Spence from the Eastern Region.
The Standard Bearers Parade took place on Wednesday afternoon, although it was not raining this year it was very windy but our Standard Bearers did us proud once again.
Prizes and awards were presented by The Lady Luke, National Vice-President. After a years preparation, it is over so quickly and the staff of the Women’s Section are now back to square one preparing for next year. We hope that those of you who attended enjoyed our conference.
